(Adventures in myth) Gryphons war, book 1 gone missing, Chapter 2

CHAPTER 2 FLINT                                                          Flint struggled to see in front of all the cubs who suddenly stopped, frozen with fear. Flint was’nt scared, she was just worried about Feather. Feather and herself never got along very well. It was normally when Feather was asleep and she tried her hardest to wake him up, but he’d just mumble under his breath saying “just a few more minuts…” and then roll on the other side of his back. “ugh!” Flint grumbled, Feather think’s to less of himself that he dosn’t realize how fast he could run when he’s panicked! she thought. She started shoving through the gryphon cubs, intel most of them slowly backed away. Most of the gryphon cubs had their ear’s flopped and their tail’s tucked down. Some were flexing their talon’s, with their fur on end. Rock shoved his way up to her. “what’s going on?” he asked “why did everyone stop moving? And where’s Feather?” he scanned the cubs around them for any sign of a wheat colored gryphon. “Feather?!” Rock yelled, Flint covered his beak with her talon, “don’t yell, I think we’re being hunted.” She took her talon off Rock’s beak, “then we defently need to find Feather!” he whispered “last I saw he was the first cub to run through the tunnel!” he glanced around them, Flint looked behind them, and then all her fur went on end. Something was breathing on her, “run!” she yelled at Rock. Than a Diamond-Destiny appered behind them, why is it just a dragonet though? She thought as she sprinted down another tunnel. And that’s when all the gryphon cubs freaked out, screeching and running down the tunnels as a yellow gemmed Diomond-Desteny crashed into a wall, scrambling to get to a yung cub. Three gyphon fighters who must have heard the screeching sprinted into the cub’s den and crashed into the dragonet, clawing it's underbelly with their talon’s. A female gryphon fighter ran up to the cub’s who where panicking down the tunnel, “fallow me!” she yelled flying above the cubs. Flint glanced around the clearing for Feather once more before following the gryphon fighter, Rock at her side.                                                                                               When they made it out another den entrance, away from all the fighting, the gryphon fighter led them to a small cave that only cubs could fit through “don’t come out intel a gryphon fighter tells you to, be safe, try not to move to much or you might attract a Mud-Claw, I’ll be bringing more cubs” the gryphon fighter told them as cubs scrambled into the den “thank you,” Flint told her. “Just doing my job” the gyphon fighter responded before she flew away. Flint padded into the den, it wasn’t the coziest of dens with all the cubs bunched together. But as long as it cept them safe from the dragons Flint was fine, “do you think Feather is in here?” Rock asked. “Oh, I’m afraid he might not make it, if it’s feather your talking about,” someone answerd for Flint, letting out a little giggle. “Watch your beak Katana!” Rock snapped back, giving her a snarl, “well, as far as i'm concerned he’s not here. " Katana countered. “What, have you been counting all the cubs who come in here?!” Flint asked in annoyance. “I was put in charge of making sure everyone made it in, so yes, I have been counting EVERY gryphon who enters in this den, and im sorry I have to tell you but, your little friend hasn’t entered yet.” She turned her back on them and padded away, counting gryphon cubs. “Why does SHE always get put in charge? Just because she’s the daughter of Sharp-Talons!” Rock mumbled. “Because Sharp-Talons was the old general AND the leader’s brother, so they think she has the same leadership abilities as her aunt.” Flint told him. Although she was also annoyed that everyone ALWAYS left her in charge.                                                                                                                                    Flint had to constantly tell herself that Feather would be ok, but the same thought kept reappearing over and over in her mind. Whould Feather be able to protect himself? And will he survive this attack? What if one of the Diamond-Destonies got to him? She dug her talons into a soft spot in the dirt. No matter how bad she didn’t want to admit it, Feather felt like a sibling to her, and it would kill her to think that she couldn’t protect him. She looked at Rock, who was sound asleep on the cold stone beside her. She always wondered what it was like to have siblings, she gave up on wondering and decided to rest for a while. She curled up next to Rock and waited for sleep to fall over her.                                                                           When Flint's eyes fluttered open she noticed she was back in her normal sleeping den on her bed of moss, she got up and saw Rock in his bed of moss too. Flint padded over to him and gave him a little nudge " hey, wake up! do you know how we got back here?"  Rock mumbled a complaint before sitting and rubbing his eyes, then yawning " i had the most weirdest dream about a siggle-sloth..." he mumbled then rubbed his eyes again " ugh, stop acting like Feather! do you know how we got back here?!" Flint complained " Feather! I forgot! oh Flint what are we doing laying here like siggle-sloths! we have to find him, Flint!" Rock got up and started to run out of the den when a white and lavender gryphon cub  pulled him back by the tail " ow!" he complained " calm down little bro! he's right here." the white gryphon explained pointing at the sleeping wheat colored gryphon.  "Star-Fighter! your back!" Rock happily exclaimed, then he happily padded over to Feather, and sat down next to him. " you might not want to  wake him, hes had a rough day..." Flint stared star-fighter in the face " are you saying it's twilight?!" Flint asked her " yes, that is what i'm saying, you've been asleep for longer then you think." star-fighter said watching her brother, "i have to go on my hunting party soon!" Flint said. She had been waiting so long for her time to come! " no you don't have to go on your hunting party soon. Flash-wing said their will be no dusk hunting tonight, i'm sorry Flint"  Flint's ears drooped down, way to make my day better flash she thought to herself. Flint pushed past  Star-Fighter and flew down to the prey den, got herself a mouse, settled in her moss bed and ate her food. Wondering what had happened to Feather while they anxiously waited for him in the safe den.
