CHAPTER 14 STAR-FIGHTER                 Star-Fighter was worried sick for her younger brother, sure she wasn’t showing it, but she was. She already had Flow stuck in the Healers den, know if they lost Rock, who knew what would happen to him. “How do you know they went this way?!” Katana asked Flint from the ground, she wasn’t able to fly from a recent injury. “while you were fighting Opal, I couldn’t tell anyone but if you look closely, Diamond-destinies, especially dragonets- can’t only concentrate on there scales while there moving or running. So every now and then you see outlines of bodies” Flint explained, then she changed to a whisper “like over there…” She pointed to a shimmering outline. Flint was right,   they were going to get her brother back.                 For the rest of the time no one talked, they just fallowed Flint. Star wondered what it was like for Rock, If they didn’t find him what would the dragon’s do with him? What did they do to all the other cubs? What

CHAPTER 13 FEATHER                 Feather struggled to see through the fern, he hoped Flint and Rock-Slinger were ok. Flint seemed strange, but she was still up and fighting, and Rock had just vanished. But Star-Fighter and Katana were struggling to fight the invisible dragonets, and each blow from the dragonets were to Katana. “How ‘bout we have a real fight instead of fighting cowards who won’t even show there faces?!” Katana yelled, but giggling only followed. “oh, she’s a fighter alright!” hissed one of the dragonets “no wonder they sent Diamond to get her!” said another, how many were there? “If she wants a real fight, I’ll give her a real fight!” Katana was knocked off balance before a dragonet turned visible. The female dragonet had pears, Topaz diamonds, and opals covering her white scaly body, She had the body of a wavern and a whip thin tail with four spikes at the end. “Oh dear, Opal’s goin’to get her eye scratched again” one of the still invisible drago

CHAPTER 12 HONEY                 “wake UP!” Some one yelled in Honey’s ears, Honey groaned. “Oh I new that would work!” said a familiar voice, Honey opened her eyes and saw a familiar brown pelted owl gryphon… Bark-Fur?! She realized, she would have said something if there wasn’t a metal bond around her beak. She tried to pry it off but it was no use. “Don’t even try, I’ve tried as well, nothing works…” Bark-Fur told her, Honey cocked her head, what did she mean by she tried when she didn’t have one? “Oh, in case your wondering why I don’t have a bond is because ya’know-“ she pointed to her beak “-Tiny owl beak! Take that dragons!” there was loud banging on the cell, then a very angry Lava-Scale appeared in front of the cell bars, “shut your beak or I’ll burn it off!” he said. “geeze! Mr. grumpy feathers! Or should I say scales? Never mind! Anyway… where was I?” Bark-Fur asked. “Oh! Yeah, that over there is Rain, he doesn’t do much but lay until they

CHAPTER 11 ROCK-SLINGER                 They decided on a plan, but they where going to need bait, and Rock-Slinger wasn’t going to be it. “It can’t be Feather, because he’s our medic- besides, he can’t defend himself” Katana stated. Everyone stared at her “what? It’s true” she said, sharpening her talons with a stone. Star began to pace, “it can’t be Katana either, we need her for back-up” she turned around at Flint “Flint, you and Rock will be bait-“ “WHAT?” Rock and Flint interrupted. Star groaned “It has to be you two, me and Katana will be back-up and we need Feather unharmed so-“ “so your fine with putting your best friend and brother in the death spot? Great idea Star” Flint argued, Star rolled her eyes. “Really Star, I’d be horrible bait…” Rock said, but his sister wasn’t buying it, “well do you have any better ideas?”                   Lots of convincing settled the agreement that Rock and Flint would be the bait. With all precautions they

Star-Fighter had gathered Flint, Rock-Slinger, and Feather at River-Flow’s moss bed. “I have to agree with Feather, why do we WANT Katana to help us!?!” Flint asked, “I think it’s a good plan” Flow said, Scrunched up in her bed. “But I can’t work with HER” Feather Added “you know how she is toward me…” Star sat up straighter, then said “I DO know, but we need someone who KNOWS more then we do-“ “I know LOTS, you just don’t listen to me enough” Flint argued, crossing her talons. “Oh, I listen to you plenty” Star said rolling her eyes, Flint HATED Katana, if she became next leader Flint would NEVER serve her. “No matter how much I, as well hate Katana, I think Star’s getting somewhere” Rock said motioning for Star to continue, Star’s voice was a low whisper “we need Katana because she would probably know why cubs are disappearing, that and she’s the deadliest cub

Only cubs who where eighteen or older was aloud to hunt in the hurricane meadow, they had to be able to hold their ground and not get pushed around in the wind. The head of the party, Smoke-Fur, motioned for them to move closer, Star did so. With her friend Cloud-Tail on her left side, and a cub named Pine on her right. They stalked closer until Smoke-Fur lept onto a wild Horse, shoving it to the ground, then lifting it into the air, and letting it plummet to the ground. That signaled the cubs to chase the herd, jumping onto horses and mimicking Smoke-Fur’s move. “Alright! That’s enough for now!” the other adult gryphon said, right as Pine let his catch hit the grassy floor. “We’ll go to the Fire Pit once
