(Adventures in Myth) Gryphons war, book 1 gone missing, Chapter 8
CHAPTER 8 HONEY
Honey
and River-Flow padded around the clearing. It was Flows idea to look around in
the tunnel. Witch happened to lead out to one of the forest clearings were the
beginners battle training was held. Honey still thought it was hopeless and she’d
never find her friend, what if she never figured out what happened to her!
Honey and Flow didn’t talk to each other at all, They just walked around
searching bushels and ferns, behind rocks and large boulders. “wait, aren’t
cubs restricted from going into the forest?” Honey asked. “We are?” Flow said,
digging through a furn. “You don’t know? A hunting party got attacked by a
Diamond-Destiny dragonet, two fighters and a cub went missing. Palm-Tail got
knocked unconscious and Leaf had to carry him all the way back.” Flow didn’t
answer, she just froze like a statue, “what is it?” Honey asked her. “I might
have found something, not necessarily about Bark-Fur though…” Honey padded over
to her where she stared at what Flow was talking about. Lots of oversized claw
marks that definitely-wasn’t from an animal or gryphon... and a trail from a
cub that might have been being dragged.
“We
should get an adult “and leave this part of the forest” Flow added “and never
come back. Because something horrible happened here…” They both began to back
away from the bush when Honey heard something, something deeper into the
forest. It sounded like shallow breathing, but it definitely-wasn’t from a
gryphon. It was more bubbly, and scratchy... “we need to hide!” Honey whispered,
“whatever did this isn’t gone yet.” “Get to the water!” Flow said, then started
padding over to a river, “are you crazy!? We can’t breath under water! I for
one can’t even hold my breath for a minute!” Honey complained “the trees would
be much safer!” Then she heard the breathing, it was getting closer! “ok. You go
in the tree but I’M going in the water, I can swim back to the village that
way.” Then she dived into the river, Honey scowled but didn’t hesitate to fly
up into a tree where she watched Flow begin to swim down-stream, she was such a
fast swimmer! But then something grabbed Honey’s beak, she would have fallen
out of the tree if something didn’t grab her and shove her into some-kind-of-sack.
She screeched and fumbled, but something had been clamped around her beak. She
was just able to hope Flow made it back to the village. Before something
slammed her on the head, she was able to make out “that cub is a fast swimmer,
but it wont be long Intel Aqua catches her” then “I-” and the world went
black.
Honey has a sad life...first her friends is missing and she thinks shes dead, then Feather doesn't meet her when he was supposed to, then she gets captured by a dragon! It's a hard knock life for Honey🎶
