(Adventures In Myth) Gryphons war, book 1 Gone missing, chapter 10

                                CHAPTER 10 FLINT

                “No. no, no, no, what are you thinking?!” Feather said. Star-Fighter had gathered Flint, Rock-Slinger, and Feather at River-Flow’s moss bed. “I have to agree with Feather, why do we WANT Katana to help us!?!” Flint asked, “I think it’s a good plan” Flow said, Scrunched up in her bed. “But I can’t work with HER” Feather Added “you know how she is toward me…” Star sat up straighter, then said “I DO know, but we need someone who KNOWS more then we do-“ “I know LOTS, you just don’t listen to me enough” Flint argued, crossing her talons. “Oh, I listen to you plenty” Star said rolling her eyes, Flint HATED Katana, if she became next leader Flint would NEVER serve her. “No matter how much I, as well hate Katana, I think Star’s getting somewhere” Rock said motioning for Star to continue, Star’s voice was a low whisper “we need Katana because she would probably know why cubs are disappearing, that and she’s the deadliest cub in this tribe”. Star waited for everyone to nod, but Feather stayed still “I don’t understand why you need ME though-“ “because you’re a medic, and we need a medic who will understand what we’re doing and not tell the adults” Star said. Feather’s ears drooped at that “but I’m barely even an apprentice! Sure I’ve memorized all the herbs I can, but I still don’t know how to properly use them!” Feather slumped down onto the dirt covered floor and groaned. Clover-Paw walked up to them “I heard you talking about needing Katana, and if that’s true she’s over there”- Clover-Paw pointed where a scraped up cub  was yelling complaints and thrashing, “I DON’T NEED MEDICINE! IT’S BARELY A SCRATCH!” Katana yelled slicing an herb to pieces with her ‘too long and sharp’ talons. Flint and Star shared looks before Flint asked “what happened to her?” Clover-Paw shook her head “she got attacked by a Diamond-Destiny, we keep telling her she needs herbs, but as you can see she’s not taking any” Clover-Paw sighed and looked where a healer was sweeping up the remains of a mushroom. Flint stared as Star padded over to the angry cub, then looked back at them, does she really want to talk to her now?! Flint rolled her eyes and padded over to Star. “What could you two POSSIBLY WANT!?” Katana spat, scowling at the healer who smeared orange goop on her left wing. “Meet us at the-“ “-sorry but I don’t think I’ll be let out” Katana interrupted, giving the three healers a death glare. “But If you really need my help- CAN I HAVE SOME PRIVACY?” She added, the healer’s scrambled away. Star sat on the stone floor, so did Flint, “we need your help” “and?” “have you realized cubs have gone missing” “and?” Flint stood, feathers bristling, but Star pulled her back down. “My sister Flow and her friend Honey got attacked, Honey went missing and Flow almost didn’t make it” Katana cocked her head “I don’t see how you need me” Flint groaned “STAR thought you might know some stuff we don’t so… get the point now?” Katana yawned, then started flexing her sharp talons “yes I do, but first what do YOU know?” Flint told her everything they knew, Katana looked shocked but still had that dangerous flare she always had in her eyes. “I don’t know much more then you do, I’m just surprised you figured out that much, but I’m afraid you missed one detail-“ “what?!” Katana sighed “I’ll only tell you IF you let me help out-“ “deal” Star replied, Flint glared at her. “first: their using diamond destiny dragonets, Second: their targeting cubs who AREN’T owl gryphons witch is one reason they don’t have as many snow cubs” Katana stopped there, “that’s it?” Flint asked “I told you, I don’t know much more then you, so what’s the plan?”
