(Adventures In Myth) Gryphons war, book 1 Gone missing, chapter 11
CHAPTER
11 ROCK-SLINGER
They
decided on a plan, but they where going to need bait, and Rock-Slinger wasn’t
going to be it. “It can’t be Feather, because he’s our medic- besides, he can’t
defend himself” Katana stated. Everyone stared at her “what? It’s true” she
said, sharpening her talons with a stone. Star began to pace, “it can’t be
Katana either, we need her for back-up” she turned around at Flint “Flint, you
and Rock will be bait-“ “WHAT?” Rock and Flint interrupted. Star groaned “It
has to be you two, me and Katana will be back-up and we need Feather unharmed
so-“ “so your fine with putting your best friend and brother in the death spot?
Great idea Star” Flint argued, Star rolled her eyes. “Really Star, I’d be
horrible bait…” Rock said, but his sister wasn’t buying it, “well do you have
any better ideas?”
Lots of convincing settled the agreement that
Rock and Flint would be the bait. With all precautions they were supposed to
play tag or something… Either the dragonets are going to be very dumb to fall
for this, or the plans going to back fire and were all going to be prisoners,
Rock thought. He really hoped Star had this thought through, he chased Flint
around the forest, staying in the boundaries they decided. Flint flew around a
tree, circled him, and flew the opposite direction. If she’s going to actually
play tag, it’s on, he thought, and flew faster. Flint was so easy to see in the
forest, not so much in the dark though, he caught up to her easily. With an
unexpected move, Flint stopped flying, she started falling then hovered for a
second before bolting under him. Rock’s head jolted backward, he turned around
to chase her but saw no one, “er… Flint?” he said, then he saw a quick shimmer
of her black feathers next to a tree. He bolted over crashing into an invisible
creature that was right in front of the tree, and Flint was visible again. “Are
you ok?” Rock asked but Flint was to busy swiping in the air to answer, her
ears were twitching ferociously and she was flexing her talons. “Flint?” Rock
continued, but all he got from her was a grunt, then something pounced on him,
he couldn’t see anything. And then there came lots of grunting, and he could
tell It was Flint, Star, and Katana Fighting with dragonets.
Oh, wow! Poor Feather...he doesn't get to do anything to help unless someone gets hurt. So I wonder why any of the dragonets didn't appear by flint and rock? Hmm🤔 The gryphon and the dragons are not at peace anymore!
