(Adventures In Myth) Gryphons war, book 1 Gone missing, chapter 18.
CHAPTER 18
FEATHER
Feather couldn’t bare the sound of
Rain’s desperate howles, nor could he bare the questions of what they were
going to do to him. There were only two cubs who were wounded, aside from his
brouse, Honey’s eye had a scratch that wasn’t there before she was taken, and
Rain had it worse of all. Feather could tell that his eye had clearly gone
blind, or would, and that it had been stabed by something. His other eye had
been scratched by a dragon, and half of his tail was wrapped with the same
cloth as his eye. Feather waited, and waited, the time went by so slowly and he
became very drowsy. Soon he fell asleep, and dreamed of interigations and
death.
When he awoke he saw a bundle of
grey feathers and recognized it as Rain, in his normal corner. Feather noticed immediately
that Bark-Fur was gone and Honey was staring down the hall were Rain had been
taken. Rose was curled up on a moss bed and sighed.
Soon Bark-Fur was returned with out
a scratch and was back to talking like crazy. Feather didn’t mind, because if
she wasn’t there, there’d be nothing that would cheer him up. Soon a Dart-Tail
stalked into their cell, why was he here when no one was being interigated?
Feather thought, then the Dart-Tail walked over where Honey was laying. Her fur
was on end and her feathers were ruffling up and down, she let out a growl. The
Dart-Tail ignored her and clamped the bond on her neck, “what are you doing?! No
ones being interigated?!?” Bark-Fur complained. “Hush!” the Dart-Tail replied, “or
I’ll do it my self!” he shot a dart passed the owl gryphon’s ear, and she
backed away. He continued to bring Honey down the hall. Feather didn’t know
what to do, he couldn’t take it anymore, he needed to escape, and he was going
to make a plan the next morning.
