CHAPTER 17 FEATHER Feather woke in the morning from clanking sounds and bangs, the gourds were opening the cells, removing the bonds, and tossing in food. The smell was terrible, it was like decaying fish. “Oh boy!” Someone squealed from in Feather’s cell, “my favorite part of the day!” Bark-Fur exclaimed. “And it’s not the food, yuck! That stuff is horrible- it’s the only time I can talk to anyone!” she made a little wiggle and wagged her tail.
